New Zealand Vs Pakistan Live Cricket Score 2nd T20I: NZ Win By Five Wickets, Take 2-0 Lead In 5-Match Series

New Zealand vs Pakistan Live Score, 2nd T20I (New Zealand National Cricket Team vs Pakistan National Cricket Team): Hello and welcome to the live blog of the 2nd T20I of the ongoing five-match T20I series between New Zealand and Pakistan. Today’s match is taking place at University Oval in Dunedin.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl with the game being reduced to 15 overs because of rain earlier in the day.

The home side made two changes from the side who won the first game of the five-match series by nine wickets in Christchurch on Sunday. All-rounder Jimmy Neesham and seamer Ben Sears replaced batsman Tim Robinson and fast bowler Kyle Jamieson.

Pakistan’s one change was the introduction of seamer Haris Rauf for leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed.

Playing XIs:

New Zealand: Tim Seifert, Finn Allen, Mark Chapman, Daryl Mitchell, James Neesham, Mitchell Hay (wk), Michael Bracewell (C), Zakary Foulkes, Jacob Duffy, Ish Sodhi, Ben Sears

Pakistan: Mohammad Haris (wk), Hasan Nawaz, Salman Agha (C), Irfan Khan, Shadab Khan, Abdul Samad, Khushdil Shah, Jahandad Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Ali

Earlier in the game, Pakistan put up a competitive total, thanks to a solid innings from skipper Salman Agha, supported by handy cameos from Khushdil Shah and Shaheen Afridi. New Zealand made good use of the conditions with the ball — and apart from Zakary Foulkes and Michael Bracewell, every bowler contributed with a couple of wickets, which helped keep the Men in Green in check

Despite starting with a maiden over, New Zealand raced out of the blocks as both openers seemed to be in a contest of their own — who could hit more sixes. The pair smashed 10 sixes between them, effectively taking the game away early and breaking the back of the chase. While they didn’t stay till the end, the result was all but sealed by then. Mitchell Hay chipped in with a handy knock, and Michael Bracewell applied the finishing touches to seal the win

A comfortable win for the Kiwis! They take a 2-0 lead in the series with a strong all-round performance. Pakistan put up more of a fight compared to the previous game, but still have work to do if they want to stay in the series.

Finn Allen steps across to slog it over mid-wicket but misses and gets hit on the pads. There is a big appeal for LBW, and this time the finger goes up. However, Allen takes the review here. UltraEdge confirms no bat involved and Ball Tracking comes up with two reds and wickets is umpire’s call. The on-field call remains but the Kiwis do not lose the review.  Allen goes for a blazing 38 off 16, and New Zealand are 87/2.
